Winter Spirit Week!

So this week was winter spirit week. There wasn't much hype leading up to it so very few people dresses up. The one day that we did go all out for was today - Battle of the Sexes.

During the pep assembly they had 3 competitions to see "which was the better sex."

The first one was having two people from each winter sport share a pair of nylons. They tried to stuff mini balloons into them and walk across the gym and dump them in a box. They had 2 minutes to get as many balloons as possible. The girls won this event (I think it was the girl's basketball team, with the gymnastics team coming in second.)

Next there was a round of trivia. The girls go asked "boys" questions and the boys got asked "girls" questions. You can see the quotation marks means somethings up. The problem was that they used stereotypes to form the questions (I actual knew more of the "boys" questions than girls). The boys had questions about eyelash curlers and Victoria Secret. They also had a few easy ones like "What's the difference between a manicure and pedicure?" The girls questions were also pretty easy. They had questions about the super bowl and what a "pigskin" was. My friends were mad that they asked, "Which company makes the Xbox?" Which is natural because they're gamers. There questions stereotyped both sexes... Which is ridiculous. Both teams got 7 out of 7. It actually came down to a history question about the "Sun King" (who was King Loius the 14th, if you wanted to know.) The boys won this event.

If they had done this right, neither team should have gotten more than 5 points. (Of course, how does knowing interests of the other sex prove that your sex is better in the first place?)

Finally we did the "Miracle Two Minutes." Each gender got to pass 2 buckets around the stands to raise money for charity. This event came down to 2 dollars. The girls raised 132 dollars while the boys raise 134 dollars. (Though they didn't announce the two dollar difference to get us hyped up...)

The girls won the last event, which was being respectful during the assembly. (Though I think that whoever was down one point may have gotten this point so that they could have a tie...)

So the Battle of the Sexes came down to rock, paper, scissors (which is a stupid way to decide the "best sex." The girls won 2-1. And so the Battle of the Sexes was over.

I think that we can all agree that the real winners of this was all the people that will be helped with the 250 dollars we raised.

And if you wanted to know the other spirit days were:

Monday: No school
Tuesday: 80s neon day
Wednesday: Superhero day
Thursday: Western day
Friday: Battle of the Sexes (girls wear gold and boys wear green)

So that was winter spirit week.

Also happening at school is candygram selling. I didn't even know that they still did things like this. You pay 50 cents to send a note and candy cane to your friends (it even includes a "special delivery.") My lunch table sits right next to the selling table, and it seems to be doing pretty good.

A homeroom food drive for the holiday season is also going on. The top 3 winning classes will get a doughnut or pancake party. My homeroom teacher says that she'll match any of our donations up to 50 cans. We'll see how the results turn out (though my science teacher says that freshman honor classes usually win because they donate a lot.)

There's also a lunar eclipse tonight/tomorrow morning but that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

One more thing, readers make sure to go to YA Sisterhood   and take part in their heroine tournament. They're pitting our favorite fictional heroines against each other.

I'll try to update later,
SVAMS

PS. I'm getting my Christmas tree this weekend... just though that I'd share that fact with you guys...

Book to Movie Adaptions...

With the new Twilight movie just released I thought I’d do a short post on book to movie adaptions (and yes, there will be spoilers)…

Harry Potter by JK Rowling
I think that Harry Potter is probably the golden standard for book to movie adaptions (at least in more recent times). You have 7 books, 8 movies, and now Pottermore… it is a full blown phenomenon. The movies for the most part followed the plot set forth in the books (yes people could get nitpicky and say they left parts out but I haven’t read all seven books so I can’t really comment on that). The other great part of the Harry Potter movies was that there were only cast changes if they really had to change them… Most of the main cast stayed for all 8 movies. If this didn’t work out then the Harry Potter franchise could have turned out differently (Of course the cornucopia of talented British actors also helped).

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
Twilight gets a lot of hate (but the most recent movie is also been the #1 movie two weeks in a row). On the front of book to movie adaptions it actual isn’t that horrible. Yes, the sparkle effect is a little cheesy but then you’re trying to make someone sparkle it’s going to be cheesy. The love triangle is a little exaggerated in the movies and the acting is only so-so but they did follow the basic plot line (unlike this next book to movie adaption).

Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
First I should start off by saying that I really loved the Percy Jackson series. The movie was decent except for the fact that it didn’t follow the book… at all. First there actors were too old (If you were wondering the main cast is supposed to be 12 in the first book...) Next they left out one of the characters who is pretty important in the second book (Were they even aiming to have a sequel). Finally they didn’t follow the plot. They used 10% of the actual plot, left out some if my favorite scenes, and… Well I’m going to stop here because I could go on and on. If you’re interested the Percy Jackson Wiki lists some differences here

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This is the next “big” teen book trying to break into the movie making business. I’ve been following the hype leading up to its release (March 23, 2012). You can see the full length trailer here. Will this take off like Harry Potter or crash and burn like Percy? My current opinion is that it has all the ingredients to be great… Will it? Well that’s TBD…

So give me your opinion. Do you like me doing reviews and want me to do more? Who knows this could become a regular thing (and feel free to give me ideas on stuff to review)…

I’ll be back sometime later to get you caught up on what’s happening at school (it’s been over a month since I’ve given you an actual update on my life).

So over and out (for now)…

Halloween

Sorry for not updating... but this will be a quick post...

It's that time in my life where I have to decide whether or not to go trick-or-treating... and this year is officially my first year not going... it's weird...

Anyway... I guess I'll just spend it at home - hanging out...

I'll try to update later... but until later have a Happy Halloween

PS. For all my writing blog readers it's also Nanowrimo eve... Good luck writers...

Homecoming Update #5

So the homecoming dance is just starting... And I'm not going.

It starts at 9 PM and ends at midnight (quite appropriate for the Happily Ever After theme, that is if you're Cinderella).

But for me it's a night of tv watching...

That's it for this year's homecoming... Next weekend we'll return to a series of semi-frequent updates...

See you at next year's homecoming...

Homecoming update #4

So today was the day... the homecoming assembly...

It was two hours of non-education work (though I did learn that you can loose your sight, hearing, and voice in one event...) It was hard at the beginning because we had to stand up for an hour (okay it was more like half that but it sure felt like an hour...)

We saw skits, the homecoming court, and yelled class chants... the Seniors won everything except for the penny wars.

We were really happy about this... the freshman had been flooding their bucket with quarters (in the vain hope that the Seniors wouldn't sweep all the events...) We actually pulled something off... It was also surprising because we placed 3rd in this event (we placed 4th in all the others...)

Anyway over all it went exactly as planned (with freshman in 4th place...) but the winners of homecoming get to ring this bell (like an actual bell). The Seniors were really premature that they got out of their seats and started surrounding the bell when they had 2 more categories to announce. The staff wasn't very happy, they kept saying "Seniors get back to your section!" But when they won they formed a mosh pit and people started falling down (the underclassmen laughed at them...)

The assembly miraculously finished 15 minutes early. Teachers were telling students to go home... but then an announcement came over the PA system that we were suppose to stay to the end of the school day. Nobody really listened (though my teacher only released us when the assembly was suppose to end, 10 minutes before the end of the school day.)

Well that's it for now, I may or may not update tomorrow with the homecoming game scores... and a little info on the dance.

Ready to win 3rd place next year,

Homecoming Update #3

So yesterday was career day...

I dressed up has a classic private eye (you know trench coat, fedora, magnifying glass, etc.) but I saw a lot of doctors scrubs. Also construction workers, fire fighters, athletes, and even a vampire author. Yesterday was also the spirit relay race... I heard that the freshman's performance was dismal at best but there is question of disqualification (I guess in the three-legged race part, the bindings came off and people just ran back...)

Now today was class theme day... For freshman it was lots of hats and bunny ears. Also I heard we placed 3rd in the dance off (beating the sophomores...) It was also the last day of the penny wars... I have no idea how the rankings to this event will turn out (though I think the Seniors have it, I saw one of them with $25+ worth of pennies, still in the rolls...)

Tomorrow is the Spirit day and the homecoming assembly (so I'll try to remember to update...) Also we play the homecoming game tomorrow, according to my dad we're playing an undefeated team ranked 8th in the entire state...

I'll be back next time with a dish on the homecoming assembly,

Homecoming Update #2

Updating you from school... They're doing PSAT testing today so school doesn't start until 11:00. I have about an hour to burn...

So anyway yesterday was class color day... I saw a good amount of white from the freshman... (Though some went all out with white... everything, while I just decided to go with a white t-shirt.)

Yesterday was also the tug-of-war, freshman placed 3rd... the standings were (I didn't watch it because it was pouring ran outside):

Seniors
Sophomores
Freshman
Juniors

There's also a all-week event in the form of a penny war. They have buckets for each class and you try to put pennies in your bucket and silver change in the other classes'.

Today is career day and also the spirit relay race....

Anyway I'll try to update later today with the wacky careers,
SVAMS

BTW - This post marks the first with me being 14 years old.... Thanks for letting me burn 10 minutes...

Homecoming Update #1

So this week might be a string of quick updates for homecoming week.

So today was nerd day, and I was surprised with the sheer amount of students that happened to have suspenders. I must have seen at least 50 kids with them on... Also popular were knee socks (with or without sandals), tucked in shirts, and nerd (taped or untaped) glasses. For most people the glasses were just 3-D glasses with the lens pulled out.

I on the other had went with nerd chic... tucked in graphic tee, skinny jeans (I finally wore them to school!), and a pink tie used has a belt...

Today was also the eating competition... I didn't see it but according to my friends it was really gross (she thought they were all going to throw up by the time it was over...)

Anyway that was Day 1 (4 more days to go...)

Update you tomorrow with Class Color Day (if I remember...),

Filler post...

I feel like I haven't posted in a while...

I was on the figment forums when a user by the name of Halle Smash posted this original poem:

I Miss Those Days:

When anything was beautiful
Everyone was kind
Everything was simple
And no worries wracked my mind
I miss those times
When bruises were why I cried
When boys said they were sorry
And mommy dried my eyes
I miss those years
That I ran around carefree
When Daddy had to go down on his knees
Something that now, he doesn't do for me
Funny how as young kids
We dream of growing up
But when we've reached that point
We wish that we could stop
And turn around.
I guess I've been thinking about this since the start of high school. I just thought I 'd put that up somewhere so I would remember it later (who knows maybe I'll use it in a graduation speech...)
Also here's a shameless plug to check out Figment...
That's all for now,

Homecoming Week Update

So I finally got the info for the "Happiest Homecoming on the Earth" (and yes that is the official slogan).

So here are the movies:

Seniors: Lion King
Juniors: Peter Pan
Sophomores: Mulan
Freshman: Alice in Wonderland

The spirit days:
Monday: Nerd Day (and they thought high school cliques was a bad homecoming theme because it discriminates...)
Tuesday: Class Color Day (Freshman are white... the absence of color).
Wednesday: Career Day (The signs for this say "be anything from professor to pirate... but keep it school appropriate)
Thursday: Class Theme Day (I think some classes have it easier than others...)
Friday: Spirit Day (Also the day of the homecoming assembly.)

Points are calculated by how many kids dress-up in each grade.

Last but not least, the class competitions:
Monday: Mega Bite Food Competition (Something about eating... maybe how much you can eat in one bite).
Tuesday: Tug-of-War (You'd think that the older students would have an advantage in this.)
Wednesday: Spirit Relay Race (a school-themed relay race?)
Thursday: Dance Off (self-explanatory...)

That's it for now.

I'm off to plan outfits for spirit week,

Really Quick...

Okay so today is Open House day.... but really it's curriculum night. It's basically only the parents that go and they follow your schedule around the school....

Also I had 3 of my classes switches around... yes, I know it's the 4th week of school. Anyway they added two more classes so a ton of freshman (and others) were getting their schedules switched. But now my English class is my science class, my science class is now my Spanish class, and my Spanish class is my English class.

That's about it for now... tomorrow I have another student council meeting; and Thursday we have another class meeting (and an emergency drill...)

Oh... and we have Friday off so happy 4 day week!

Check in later,
SVAMS

PS. This is officially my 50th post... Yay!

Today...

Was quite an exciting Friday.

In English class my teacher got delivered a mailbox - like a real mailbox. I'll explain... So my teacher sent a student out to check his staff mailbox (and generally everyone raises their hand so they can get out of class...) He comes back and comes in the room saying, " Umm... You got a mailbox...) We basically burst out laughing, while our teacher is freaking out (Later he said that he almost sweared.)

Next class was health (yes, the awkward class we must all endure.) Anyway we got to take a twenty minute nap IN CLASS has an assignment. You read correctly we were suppose to fall asleep in class. We were learning about how relaxation and sleep affect stress but who cares, we got to take a nap in class.

My last class today was science. We learned about the periodic table and other stuff but on the bright side we got to see a weird British video where they blew stuff up...

Also I had to catch up on all my homework I missed but I don't really want to bore you with that.

Next Monday is open house... so my parents get to see the school, meet the teachers, etc. Other than that I guess the only announcement is that we are two weeks away from homecoming...

Ready to sleep in,

I got tweeted about!

Okay one more thing for today.

Right after posting I went to check my stats and I saw a blog had a referring link to this blog. I clicked on the page and saw her tweets. After going to her twitter account I was surprised to see this tweet:

"Hey, check out this blog: :)"
Yes, I just copy and pasted that. I was tweeted about! (sorry about the excitement, I just thought that the only people that read my blog were my parents, their coworkers, and my family. Who all have to read so anytime they see me can say "Hey, I saw your blog entry" and be supportive. Other people actually read it!)

Okay enough excitement for tonight,
SVAMS

PS.  Here's the link to the tweeter's blog: http://storiesfromhighschool.wordpress.com/

Like a (Jean) Virgin....

Sorry about the long wait for this update...

Before we get to to the title story let's do some catching up.

So the freshmen Disney movie is Alice in Wonderland. I don't know if it's the original animated version or the Tim Burton version. But it's Disney. Now for homecoming each class has to create a display case, chant, skit, and backdrop. Each class also has a mascot that they keep for all four years.

Our official school mascot is Otis the Fighting Scot. So each of the class mascots also has to be Scottish. Our class decided on...

SCOTCH TAPE.

Yes. I know what your thinking? Scotch tape! That's not even Scottish. Well you're right but I wasn't at the vote. (And if anyone's interested Scotch tape was made in Minneapolis, Minnesota.) I have no clue how we're going to include this...

I stayed home from school today because I have a bad cold. It's been going around school. I'm pretty sure most of the school is sick or has been sick in the last few weeks...

So the title story... Well anyone who knows me knows that I don't wear jeans. So this weekend I went out and got myself 2 pairs from Old Navy. I think I tried on every cut, rise, size, etc. combination possible. Anyway now I am the proud owner of two pairs of jeans, one bootcut and one skinny (and no I will not tell you what sizes.)

Not much else to tell you.

Off to catch up on homework,

Homecoming Theme

So just one chunk of news today... the homecoming theme will be...

DISNEY MOVIES.

Each grade will pick a movie (with Seniors getting first pick, Juniors second, etc.) This means freshmen probably won't get their first choice. I'll update you later with the grade breakdown.

Also tomorrow marks our first pep assembly (I'll try to update you with the happenings of this tomorrow... if not...)

Not much else to say...

Off to Google Disney Movies,

So...

We had another fire drill today (that makes 2...). It was rather uneventful...

We got to play charades in science class so we could learn the safety contract. It was a fun and creative way to do it (and we actually paid attention...)

The beginning of the year also marks the time of forms. My mom absolutely hates filling out forms because year after year they're the exact same thing.

I have another student council meeting tomorrow. We get to discuss... (are you ready)... homecoming themes. I have to talk to my homeroom class so they can come up with 3 themes they'd like to see.

In health (where we get to discuss depression, suicide, stress, addiction, and yes sex ed.) we started our health family trees. This is so we can see if there are any genetic diseases we could inherit.

Also I have my first quiz tomorrow in Spanish. It's on introductions and such, so wish me luck.

So tomorrow (or the soon after) I'll come back with the homecoming themes and our first pep rally.

I'm finally over the hump (aka Wednesday),

Update...

So picture day passed by... I was lucky enough to have pictures during first period. But there wasn't any drama...

Today we had some technology lessons... though I'm not sure how much people paid attention to it.

We also had our first student council meeting today. (I forgot to mention I'm a homeroom rep.) We went through the importance of our positions and that we are the link between student gov. and the rest of the school.

Right now student gov. (ASB) is kind of busy with a little thing called HOMECOMING. You know the dance, the class competitions, and the football game. (Though we all know freshman will come in last because the order is always seniors, juniors, sophomores, and then freshman.) I guess that you'll be seeing a lot of homecoming updates...

That's it for now (though look out for another "emergency drill" tomorrow...

Say Cheese

I forgot to mention in my last post that tomorrow is picture day. The photo that will seal my fate... I've always found it weird they do picture day so early in the year. Some people look totally different at the end of the year (when the yearbook gets published).

Off to desperately find something to wear,

First Week Status: Complete

Another quick post...

So I told you on Friday we were having a local theater come in to do a performance on bullying. It happened to be on cyber bullying. It was slightly exaggerated (but it had to be or else it would be boring) and kind of cliched. But it was actually pretty good (meaning I've seen a lot worse...)

Today we went to the Puyallup fair. Now this fair is famous for it's scones. Our family bought a total of 44 scones (but consider they were going to 2 different houses). We played some midway games, and generally spent lots of money.

Next week should be exciting because we have technology lessons, another emergency drill, two student council meetings, a pep rally, and of course we also have to go to class.

I'm off to eat another scone,

Quick Check In...

This is just going to be quick rundown of my day. I just wanted to do this before I forget.

So I got nominated homeroom rep. today. We were suppose to hold elections but no one in my class would run. One of my friends nominated me, I was tired of no one running so I caved. Now my blog will be filled with the adventures of a student council rep....

We also held homecoming elections today. Freshman (along with sophomores and juniors) elect a Lord and Lady, while Seniors elect King and Queen. Today we did a write in vote, which will decide which names go on to the ballot vote.

Also on today's agenda was the school years first fire drill (yes it's the fourth day of school and we already had a fire drill). It happened during 6th period while I was in math. My math teacher was funny because he was trying to act nonchalant about it. He kept mentioning that we would be "interrupted" and pointing out the sign on the door (of where my class would evacuate) saying it would come in "handy." A few minutes before the alarm signaled he was even carrying around the evacuation clipboard (you know the one with green and red signs, along with an attendance sheet). We all knew it was a fire drill, it was even on the online community calender listed as "emergency drill."

Tomorrow a local theater is coming to do a performance on bullying. But that's pretty much it.

It's (almost) Friday, Friday

Just a quick update...

So days 2 and 3 of high school are now complete. Here's a rundown of what happened:

Day 2: Went to all my classes. We did the standard who are you type stuff. I don't really know what else to write...

Day 3: Went to all my classes (again). Started semi-real classwork and went over the student handbook.

Now there is one thing that I'm not sure about with my high school. We have only one lunch period. We aren't what you call a small high school, we have about 1500 students. The one good thing is that Juniors and Seniors go off campus to eat lunch because we do boast an open campus. I'll give you an update of what it's like to go through the lunch line when I finally work up the courage to buy lunch.

That's it. I'll try to update you later this week with the full week analysis.

No longer waiting on Wednesday,

The First Day (and a sign?)

Hey Blogosphere,

So today was my first day of high school and it went something like this:

5:30 AM: My dad tries to get me out of bed.

6:00 AM: I actually get out of bed.

6:00 AM - 6:30 AM: Eat breakfast.

6:30 AM: Get ready for school

7:07 AM: Walk to bus stop....

Okay, I'm going to stop doing my timetable because it's even boring me a little. So we got to school and they funneled us into the school (with lots of noise, cheering, and high fives). Then we got name tags with group numbers, etc. on them. We stood around for  a while before they led us to the gym. Then we stood around for a while outside of the gym before they then funneled us into the gym (with more cheering). We sat through the standard "welcome" to high school assembly before breaking off in our groups. Now their were 52 groups which was really nice because each group only had 5-7 freshman and 2 upperclassmen.

In our groups we did ice breaking games, and a game called 64 squares (which was suppose to be a metaphor for our high school journey.) Then we went to the nurse to get our hearing and eyesite checked (which conveniently led us pass a table of cupcakes.) After scarfing down our cupcakes, we got to go to the freshman pancake breakfast. We went back into our groups to do more icebreaker activities and went on a scavenger hunt (while dressed in crazy costumes, my group did tetris pieces) for our classes. We did a final orientation in the theater before breaking off for lunch. In the afternoon we went to all our classes for about 15 minutes each. After this we went home, where I'm now writing this blog entry.

And that was my first day of high school.

Now you noticed that "First Day" is only the partial title of this entry. This is because when I got home I was pleasantly surprised to see my Pottermore welcome letter in my inbox (yes, the one that gives me beta access which I had to wake up at 5 AM to get.) Is it a sign that I had a great first day (and of things to come in high school) or did Pottermore just get lucky? I'd like to believe the former...

I guess now my blog can look forward to all my high school shenanigans...

New Year, New Look

I start high school tomorrow. Yeah... It's pretty crazy to think I was only in seventh grade when I started this.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness -Charles Dickens
Anyone else think that that quote fits high school?

I've finished my summer homework and tomorrow I'll enter the place where I'll spend my next four years.

Also I've changed the look of my blog a bit (you've probably noticed). I thought new school, new year, a world of possibilities. But anyway like the new look?

I'll try to update when I can... but for tonight that's it.

Dear Uncle Denver,

Now I'm sure your all wondering the "real" reason that I've finally updated this blog, well it goes something like this...

We are planning a family cruise for late August to Alaska. Most of my dad's side is coming except his oldest brother (my Uncle Denver). So here's one last try to get him to come on this "family" cruise. So without a further a do...

Dear Uncle Denver,

Here is why you should come...

Main reasons to come:
  • Lola doesn't have years and years to do this. She is over 85 years old and she's running out of time. She's going to die - let her have this last hurrah, the entire family in one place, at the same time, making memories (I don't his has happened since before your other niece was born).
  • It's a family cruise. It can't be a family cruise unless the entire family comes.
  • Rooms are based on double occupancy. This means even if you don't come we'll still have to pay for your room.
  • If it's financial reasons that you won't come, well there's a solution for that too. Lola is paying for the bulk of it and I've even offered to pay for your plane ticket.
  • I get you're trying to work things out with Auntie but she's here in Seattle and you're in Denver. Working things out works better if your face to face.
  • If you feel Auntie is going to feel left out well, she's been invited. If she wants to come she is welcome to come.
  • While we're on the subject - I miss her too. I haven't seen her for over at least 3 years. It would be great to get reacquainted. Also if she's the reason you won't come - I've heard that she's given you permission to come. Don't let her hold you back.
  • I've said that I won't come unless you come. We'll be missing you along with me. (Now it definitely can't be called a family cruise).
  • Think of all the memories we'll make and all the fun we'll have (Don't make me photo-shop your head into all the pictures.)
  • I can't imagine this trip without you. Were family, stuck together whether we like it or not. So come with us, one week, one boat, a million memories.

Uncle Denver if your reading this right now please reconsider your decision (and call so we can talk). Both your nieces want you on this trip (the other is just not as stubborn to make you come - but don't worry I'll be nagging enough for the both of us). Your not just my uncle, your my godfather. How am I suppose to enjoy this if your stuck at home? (Now I remember, I'm not going unless you do.) This cruise is in no way complete without you. I know that the others have talked with you, but PLEASE, PLEASE come with us.

I know times are hard and life is crazy but Uncle Denver, family helps. Even in the darkest of times we will be there for each other. We need this adventure, and all of us want you along for the ride.

In December when I last saw you I basically said I was cancelling this blog - but you brought me back. I restarted this for you and our family. This trip will only come around once, by saying no you limit your possibilities and will forever wonder "What if." There is no time like the present - so please come.

You are a part of our lives. I don't care what is going on in Denver or Seattle or how complicated this whole entire situation has got. It comes down to this, this is a trip for all of us (including you.) We'll find adventure, fun, and maybe what it means to be a family.

We need you! So please let me hear the ringing of a phone with your voice saying, "See you August."

This would mean the world to me and our family. So one last chance... I beg of you to change your mind. PLEASE go with us. This experience wouldn't be the same without you. I said it once and I'll say it again - WE NEED YOU!

With all my love and hope,
SVAMS (Your 8th grade niece)

P.S. Please call - if this doesn't convince I'll just have to do it in person.

So... I "forgot" about this blog for the last 4 months.

Right now I'm on mid-winter break. Today I took the ACT (to get into a summer program), tomorrow and Thursday I have to do job shadows (that is if the Seattle weather holds up), and Friday - homework. My break of relaxing is over.

On another note, check out this awesome website for teen writers: Figment.

So coming up in school we have our 8th grade science fair, the spring open house, and high school registration. Looks like the excitement is still to come...
